The brand-new plant would be developed at the website of the existing nuclear reactor at Jaslovske Bohunice.

Prime Minister Robert Fico stated on Monday it would be fully state-owned, unlike the country's existing two nuclear plants at Bohunice and Mochovce, which are operated by partially state-owned Slovenske Elektrarne.

Economy Minister Denisa Sakova has stated the provider of the brand-new unit would be selected in a tender, with Russia's Rosatom not allowed to complete. She stated she expected French, U.S., or Korean companies as prospective bidders to build the plant.
