Draft documents from the European Commission, seen by, show that the European Union intends to 'extend its upcoming border tax on carbon to include imported products such as car parts, washing machines and refrigerators. This is to close any loophole that foreign firms could use to avoid paying this levy. The EU will publish a set of measures related to the world's first carbon border tariff on Wednesday.
