Drone strikes apartment building in Romania near Ukraine border, two injured

In a post on Facebook, the Romanian Inspectorate General for Emergency Situations said that a drone had struck a residential building in Galati, Romania, near?the border with Ukraine. Two people suffered minor injuries.

Inspectorate?said that the drone had struck a 10-floor apartment, causing a fire. The post showed debris on the ground and firefighters at the scene.

The post added that the drone’s entire explosive payload exploded?and approximately 70 people were evacuated. The post didn't provide any further information?about drone. The post said that the fire was eventually extinguished.

TVR reported late Thursday that a drone was discovered in the county of Maramures in northwestern Romania, but it was not explosively charged. The area was then secured.

TVR said that the authorities were investigating the origins of the drone. The report stated that it had a wingspan around?3 metres (9.84 ft) and how the drone ended up in the area.

In southern Ukraine, local authorities said that several drones attacked the Izmail Port in 'the Odesa Region' in the early morning hours of Friday.
