Russia forecasts 'severe' oil growth demand potential to 2050

Russia expects severe. growth capacity in worldwide oil demand through to 2050 and is. ready to provide extra barrels, its Deputy Energy Minister. Pavel said on Thursday.

Sorokin stated that Russia did not wish to flood the marketplace if. there is no requirement, adding that production expenses are set to. boost as more oil will be more difficult to extract.

Vedomosti newspaper earlier this month reported that the. energy ministry expected Russia to produce 540 million metric. tons of oil in 2030 (10.8 million barrels each day), up from 531. million heaps in 2023.

That 540 million heaps is a base scenario with a disclaimer,. considering our cooperation with our OPEC+ partners and taking. into factor to consider market requires, Sorokin told the Russian. energy week online forum.

The ministry sees global oil demand growth of at least 5. million bpd to 7 million bpd, or 4.5% -5.5% greater than current. intake rates through to 2030, Sorokin said, adding development. is set to increase by at least 5% through to 2050.

Sorokin said rising need will be fulfilled by the OPEC+ group of. leading oil manufacturers along with the United States, the worldwide. leader, Canada and Brazil.
