Australia's Vanadium Resources goes into offtake deal with Chinese vanadium nitride manufacturer

Australia's Vanadium Resources said on Thursday it entered into a memorandum of comprehending with China's Panjin Hexiang New Materials Innovation to supply 4,000 loads per annum for vanadium pentoxide for a preliminary fiveyear term.

The offer represents a supply of about 37% of Vanadium Resources' planned annual flake production capability from the initially phase of its Steelpoortdrift and Tweefontein operations in South Africa.

The business said it is concurrently in talks for even more offtake contracts with Chinese, Japanese, Korean and European end users and traders for the remaining production balance from the operations.

The non-binding agreement, that includes a choice to extend for another five years, provides a structure for even more negotiations on rate, product quality and other offtake parameters, the business stated.

VR8 is drawn in to Hexiang's procedures to take vanadium pentoxide and produce vanadium-nitrogen alloys for usage in the steel industry, CEO John Ciganek stated in a declaration.

The addition of vanadium nitride to steel can improve its mechanical homes, such as strength, and the alloy is utilized in steel bars and cast iron.
