US CENTCOM states it performed raid in Iraq, 15 Islamic State operatives dead

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) stated on Friday its forces carried out a partnered raid with the Iraqi Security Forces in western Iraq in the early hours of Aug. 29, leading to the deaths of 15 Islamic State (ISIS) operatives.

The ISIS aspect was equipped with various weapons, grenades, and explosive suicide belts, CENTCOM said. It also added that there were no indicator of civilian casualties in the raid.

Seven American troops were injured in the joint raid, the Associated Press reported later pointing out the U.S. armed force.

5 were wounded in the operation while two others were injured in falls, a U.S. military authorities told the AP. All. personnel remain in steady condition, the authorities stated.

The U.S. Department of Defense did not instantly react. to a Reuters request for comment on the injury toll.
