NORDIC POWER-Forward rates pull away on wetter weather outlook

Nordic forward power rates slipped for a 2nd straight session on Wednesday, pressured by projections for higher precipitation in the hydropowerreliant region and enhancing water reserves.

* The Nordic front-quarter contract was down by 1.18 euros at 35.3 euros per megawatt-hour (MWh) by 1050 GMT.

* The Nordic front-year baseload power contract lost 0.3 euro to 39.1 euros/MWh.

* Both temperatures and rainfall amounts are anticipated somewhat greater than seasonal average throughout the next ten days ... the hydro balance is still in a deficit although it is shrinking due to the wetter conditions, analysts at Energi Danmark said in a day-to-day note.

* Nordic water reserves available 15 days ahead were seen at 5.97 terawatt hours (TWh) below normal, compared with 8.24 TWh listed below regular on Tuesday.

* A westerly flow pattern will dominate the very first half of April. Initially, it will be located quite far to the south, Georg Muller, a meteorologist at LSEG, wrote in a forecast note.

* Dutch and British wholesale gas rates were trading rangebound, as strong storage stocks and milder weather condition outweighed issues over geopolitical tensions and lower melted natural gas (LNG) send-out.

* Germany's Cal '25 baseload, Europe's standard agreement, declined by 2.25 euros to 80.85 euros/MWh.

* Carbon front-year allowances were down by 0.37 euro at 61.91 euros a tonne.
