US natgas flows to Texas Freeport LNG export plant seen near zero on Thursday, LSEG data programs

The quantity of gas flowing to Freeport LNG's melted natural gas (LNG) export plant in Texas was on track to drop to near absolutely no on Thursday, information from monetary company LSEG revealed.

That drop in anticipated feedgas came one day after Freeport said among the plant's 3 liquefaction trains tripped.

The start-up and shutdown of Freeport has in the past had a. significant impact on U.S. and European gas costs.

Gas futures at the Dutch Title Transfer Facility (TTF). , the European standard, were up about 6%, while. rates at the U.S. Henry Center benchmark in Louisiana were. down about 2% in their first decline in five trading sessions.

Freeport Train 3 experienced a trip late on April 9 that. lasted into April 10, an emissions report the business filed on. April 10 with Texas environmental regulators revealed.

Before that event, it looked like the amount of gas flowing. to Freeport was increasing to an anticipated 1.5 billion cubic feet. each day (bcfd) on Wednesday from 1.1 bcfd on Tuesday and an. average of 0.8 bcfd over the prior seven days, LSEG data showed.

Now, however, the LSEG information revealed the amount of gas flowing. to Freeport was on track to drop to 0.2 bcfd on Thursday, down. from 0.7 bcfd on Wednesday.

One billion cubic feet is enough gas to provide about 5. million U.S. homes for a day.

Freeport officials had no talk about the emissions event or. the current decrease in feedgas.

The initial boost in flows earlier today was a. surprise to many in the market and helped cause U.S. gas costs. to increase, given that the plant was not anticipated to ramp up until May.

The market was anticipating 2 trains (at Freeport) online. with the recent increase in feedgas, however that is gone now, an. energy trader informed .

So most likely base case remains one train online up till May. at least, the trader said.

Freeport said in late March that it expected 2 of the. 3 liquefaction trains at the plant - Trains 1 and 2 - to. stay shut until May for repairs and assessments, while Train 3. was operating.

Each Freeport train can turn about 0.7 bcfd of gas into LNG.

Total gas flows to the seven big U.S. LNG export plants. have slid to an average of 12.6 bcfd up until now in April, down from. 13.1 bcfd in March. That compares with a month-to-month record of 14.7. bcfd in December.
