The president of Lithium Argentina said on Thursday that Chinese miner Ganfeng Lithium and its Swiss partner Lithium Argentina were 'looking for a third investor to finance the Pozuelos - Pastos Grandes Lithium project in northern Argentina.

The "Lithium Triangle" is composed of Argentina, Chile, and Bolivia. This triangle contains the world's largest reserves of white metal for use in batteries and electric vehicles. Argentina is the fourth largest lithium exporter in the world.

The Cauchari-Olaroz?project is also operated by Ganfeng, Lithium Argentina and JEMSE in the neighbouring province of Jujuy. The project received approval in May to join the RIGI, for a 1.2-billion dollar expansion. Argentina exports gold and silver, and there are copper?projects in development. The majority of these projects will begin production around 2030. According to a CAEM projection, its total?mining?exports will reach $6.073 billion by?2025. By 2026 they are expected to rise?to $9.3 billion. (Reporting and writing by Leila Miller; Additional reporting by Lucila Sigal)
