Russian oil transit by means of Ukraine doubles in July, consultancy says

The quantity of Russian oil streaming to European countries through Ukraine rose to 1.09 million metric tons in July from 540,000 heaps in June, Kyiv's base fuel consultancy ExPro stated on Friday, following complaints by Hungary and Slovakia about a significant drop.

From Aug. 1-19, the oil transit volume went beyond 600,000 lots, the consultancy included.

According to ExPro computations ... in July, transit volumes amounted to 35,200 loads per day, and in August - 33,300 heaps per day, the consultancy stated.

The consultancy said that in July the majority of the oil was transported to Hungary - 0.43 million heaps, an 8% decrease from June.

Oil materials to Slovakia increased dramatically to 0.34 million lots, the consultancy stated, including that 0.32 million lots had also been carried to the Czech Republic during the month.

Month-to-month volumes of oil transit through Ukraine are unstable, varying from the roughly 500,000 loads in June to more than 1.2 million loads in January, the consultancy's data programs.

Russian oil-exporter Lukoil was banned by Kyiv in late June from utilizing the Druzhba or Friendship pipeline that runs through Ukraine's area, partly providing Hungary's and likewise Slovakia's refineries.

The two landlocked nations warned of possible fuel lacks from September unless a solution was found.

Ukrainian authorities, nevertheless, have said the volume stayed unchanged but decreased to offer precise volumes of oil transit.
