Russian billionaire's Power Devices wins claim versus PetroVietnam

Russian power devices producer Power Machines, owned by billionaire Alexey Mordashov, has won a claim versus Vietnam's state oil company PetroVietnam, a spokesperson for Mordashov stated on Monday, without divulging details.

Russia's RBC daily, citing an unnamed source, said an award of around $500 million to Power Machines was being gone over.

Power Machines' lawsuit, submitted in Singapore, looked for to reclaim funds invested for constructing a power plant in Vietnam, a job that was halted in 2018 after Power Devices was positioned under U.S. sanctions.

The Russian group won the case in November last year, the representative said.

Power Machines is satisfied with the court's decision, nevertheless the regards to the choice are personal and can not be disclosed by either side at this stage, the representative added.

PetroVietnam did not immediately react to an ask for comments during the Lunar New Year vacation.
