Japan's Eneos shuts Kawasaki No. 2 CDU and Oita CDU for upkeep

Japan's biggest refiner, Eneos Corp, shut the 172,100 barrelsperday No. 2 crude distillation system (CDU) at its Kawasaki refinery and the 136,000 bpd CDU at its Oita refinery on May 13 for scheduled maintenance, a company representative stated on Friday.

The refiner, an unit of Eneos Holdings, anticipates to restart the Kawasaki No. 2 system in mid-August and the Oita unit in late August, the spokesperson stated.

The business restarted the 128,000-bpd CDU at its Marifu refinery on April 10 after shutting it down in late January for arranged turn-around, he said.

Independently, its 153,000-bpd CDU at its Negishi refinery was brought back online on April 24 after going offline on March 31 due to system difficulty, he added.

Eneos has improved refining capability of 4 CDUs after permanently closing down the 120,400-bpd CDU at its Wakayama refinery last October, the spokesperson stated.

The refining capacity of the Kawasaki No. 2 unit increased by 2,100 bpd to 172,100 bpd, the Negishi system by 3,000 bpd to 153,000 bpd, the Marifu system by 8,000 bpd to 128,000 bpd and the Kashima system by 7,000 bpd to 210,100 bpd, bringing the company's. total refining capability to around 1.64 million bpd, he said.
