Russian wholesale gas prices up after drone attack on NORSI refinery

Russian wholesale fuel Ai92 grade rates rose by around 1.2% on Tuesday to 47,962 roubles per metric ton, data from the St Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange (SPIMEX) showed, after a drone attack on Lukoil's NORSI oil refinery.

Wholesale prices of Russia's summer diesel were up 1.3% on the day to 61,299 roubles per load, while the price of fuel Ai-95 climbed 0.51% to 58,032 roubles per ton.

Russian authorities reported Ukrainian attacks on a slew of energy facilities on Tuesday, consisting of one that caused a fire at NORSI.

Gleb Nikitin, guv of the Nizhny Novgorod region, published a photo of a fire truck beside the refinery and said emergency situation services were working to put out a blaze there.

A fuel and energy complex facility was assaulted by unmanned aerial automobiles, Nikitin said on messaging platform Telegram.

Market sources informed the main crude distillation system (AVT-6) at Russia's NORSI refinery was harmed, which implies that at least half of the refinery's production is halted. Lukoil decreased to comment.

The NORSI refinery can process about 17 million metric heaps of oil per year, or 340,000 barrels per day. It usually produces 11% of Russia's gasoline.

Domestic gasoline prices are delicate ahead of a March 15-17 governmental election. Russia enforced a six-month ban on gasoline exports on March 1.
