Exxon Mobil's French refinery has honoured contracts after fire, business says

Exxon Mobil satisfied from existing stock all its delivery agreements from its refinery in Port JeromeGravenchon in northern France since it was struck by a significant fire on Monday, a spokesperson for the business stated.

The refinery's personnel were working to examine the damage to one of 2 distillation towers of the oil refinery to see if and when it would be able to operate once again after an emergency situation at the refinery was called off early on Tuesday, the spokesperson said.

She could not specify for how long the refinery would be able to honour all delivery contracts from existing stocks with the tower closed down.

The refinery, located in Normandy near the estuary of the Seine river, has 2 distillery towers and a capacity of 240,000 barrels daily (bpd), making it amongst the greatest in France. It provides the Ile-de-France area around Paris.

One person out of the 5 who received medical treatment was still in observation in a local medical facility, the representative stated.
