Six people, including a commander from Anbar province, were killed by airstrikes in Iraq's Shi'ite PMF camp

Security sources said early Tuesday that airstrikes on a site of Iraq's Shiite Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) in the western province of Anbar had killed six fighters including the PMF Anbar operations chief, and injured 15 others.

The 'PMF' confirmed the death of Saad Al-Baiji in a press release and blamed the United States for the attack. They claimed that a U.S. strike targeted the command headquarters of the PMF while the personnel were at work.

The PMF (also known as Hashd al-Shaabi in Arabic) is an umbrella group that includes mainly Shi'ite paramilitary groups. It was formally integrated with Iraq's security forces and includes many groups aligned to Iran.
