Three workers killed by Ukrainian drones, according to a leader of the Donetsk Region installed in Russia

The Kremlin installed head of the Donetsk region confirmed that a Ukrainian drone killed three utility workers on Thursday in a "Russian controlled part" of eastern Ukraine.

Denis Pushilin said in a post on the Telegram app that the workers, a repair crew from the water company, were riding in a vehicle in Vuhlehirsk north of Donetsk when they were struck by drones.

In the incident, a fourth man was injured seriously.

Pushilin stated that?four people had been injured in other incidents? in areas of the region? under?Russian? control. Russia is calling on Ukraine to give up areas in the Donetsk area that it controls and says it will continue to fight until it has full control over Donetsk. Ukraine has rejected this demand. Pushilin stated in March that Ukrainian forces still controlled up to 17%.

Russian forces are advancing slowly through Donetsk. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and officials claim that Kyiv has retaken territory and is now in its best position for months along the 1,200 km (775 mile) front line.

The Russian Defence Ministry announced on Thursday that its forces had taken the village of Novovasylivka, in the Kharkiv Region, further north. Moscow claims to be attempting to create a buffer zone along its border.

According to Russian news agencies, the Volgograd regional governor, Andrei Bocharov said that anti-aircraft units were repelling an 'aggressive drone attack'. A drone attack was launched against an apartment building and civil and energy infrastructure, but there were no reported casualties.

On the Ukrainian-Ukrainian border, the?Acting governor Yegor Kvalchuk from Bryansk Region said on Telegram that an Ukrainian drone attack on a village had killed one person. (Reporting and editing by Lincoln Feast; reporting by Ron Popeski)
