Thyssenkrupp steel employees warn versus big restructuring

Thyssenkrupp's. labour representatives on Wednesday alerted the German. corporation's management versus cutting jobs or capability as. part of an expected sale of its steel division.

Worried Thyssenkrupp might take such actions as part of a. prepared partial sale to Czech energy group EPH, employees said. they had employed a consultancy to come up with future circumstances. that would protect the steel system's existing size and scope.

We are not ruling anything out, but it stays clear to us. that we want to keep Stahl in its existing size, Tekin Nasikkol,. who heads Thyssenkrupp's works council and rests on the group's. supervisory board, said in a handout seen .

Thyssenkrupp declined to comment.

Nasikkol said the patience of Thyssenkrupp's owners was. running thin and employees need to get ready for the worst.

In the leaflet distributed to employees, the IG Metall union. stated it would firmly insist that Thyssenkrupp's websites and roughly. 27,000 tasks would be kept which a formerly concurred task. assurance till March 2026 would be honoured.

Sources told last week that Thyssenkrupp and EPH. were facing hold-ups in talks on a steel joint endeavor as ongoing. agreement settlements with automobile customers hinder the German. group's efforts to prepare an essential service plan.

IG Metall also said Thyssenkrupp requires to keep steel. production capability of 11.5 million tonnes a year and that all. blast heaters need to be retrofitted for decarbonised output.
