RUBBER-Japanese futures track physical costs lower

* Japanese rubber futures dropped on Wednesday, tracking physical rates lower, while weaker domestic equities also weighed on investor belief.

* The Osaka Exchange (OSE) rubber agreement for September delivery was down 1.9 yen, or 0.58%, at 323.6 yen ($ 2.13) per kg, as of 0200 GMT.

* The rubber agreement on the Shanghai Futures Exchange ( SHFE) for September delivery was down 150 yuan, or 1.02%, at 14,535 yuan ($ 2,009.15) per metric ton.

* Thailand's benchmark smoked rubber sheet (RSS3) retreated even more from a seven-year high touched on March 18 amidst expectations of the beginning of a new tapping season. Its export-grade rubber sheet << RUB-RSS3C-BKK > was priced quote at> 92.21 Thai baht ($ 2.51) per kg on a free-on-board basis on Tuesday, 1.25% lower than Monday.
