Indonesia launches nickel, tin online tracking system

Indonesia released on Monday an online system to track motions of nickel and tin from mines to domestic processing facilities to enhance accountability and federal government profits, authorities said.

The system, known as SIMBARA, was first implemented in 2022 to track coal, with a plan to widen its usage to other minerals.

Indonesia is the world's greatest exporter of coal. It is the top worldwide manufacturer of nickel, and among the largest manufacturers of tin.
