China's May coal output slips 0.8% year-on-year

Coal output in the world's. biggest producer China slipped 0.8% yearonyear in May,. stats bureau information showed on Monday, as continuous safety. assessments leading to some production stops briefly weighed on output.

China produced 383.85 million tonnes of coal in May,. according to the National Bureau of Data.

That was up from 371.67 million tons in April, the lowest. level given that October 2022.

However, on an everyday output basis, production was up to 12.38. million heaps daily in May, from 12.39 million loads in the. previous month.

From January-May, China's coal production reached 1.86. billion tonnes, down 3% from the same period of last year.
