Brazil's Petrobras second-quarter oil production rises 2.6%.

Brazilian staterun oil business Petrobras said on Monday its petroleum production throughout the second quarter rose 2.6% from the yearago duration after it increase 5 oil platforms and started production in 12 wells.

Petrobras pumped 2.16 million barrels daily (bpd) from April to June, and produced 2.7 million barrels of oil comparable per day (boepd), a 2.4% increase over the same duration in 2023, the business stated in a declaration.

Production from the company's pre-salt fields, an oil-rich offshore area off the nation's southeastern Atlantic coast, grew 6.3%, assisting offset a decline in production on Petrobras' other fields.

Sales of oil gas and derivatives reached 2.94 million boepd, a 4% boost over the year. While sales to the domestic market fell 4.4%, they were compensated by a 30% development in sales to the foreign market.

Overall exports increased 36% on a year-on-year basis, with 851,000 bpd of oil and derivatives exported in the period. Oil exports increased 58% in the duration.
