Three workers killed by Ukrainian drones, according to a leader of the Donetsk Region installed in Russia

The Kremlin's appointed?head for the region confirmed that a Ukrainian drone killed three utility workers in a Russian controlled part of Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk Region on Thursday.

Denis Pushilin, on Telegram, said that the drones struck a group of 'workers', who were a repair team for the 'water supply company. They were in a vehicle in Vuhlehirsk north of Donetsk.

In the incident, a fourth man was injured seriously.

Pushilin stated that four people were injured by other incidents in areas of the region controlled by?Russia. Russia wants Ukraine to give up the areas it controls in Donetsk and says it will continue to fight until it has full control of Donetsk. Ukraine has rejected this demand. Pushilin said in March that Ukrainian forces controlled up to 17% the region.

Russian forces are engaged in a slow advance through Donetsk. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said that Kyiv has retaken territory and is now in its best position in months along the 1,200 km (775 mile) front line.

The Russian Defence Ministry announced on Thursday that its forces had taken Novovasylivka, a village in Kharkiv, further north. Moscow claims it is trying establish a buffer area on its border.

According to Russian news agencies, the Volgograd regional governor, Andrei Bocharov said that anti-aircraft units in central Russia were repelling an enormous drone attack. The drone attack targeted an apartment building and the energy and civil infrastructure, but there were no reported casualties.

Mikhail Yevrayev, the Governor of Russia's Yaroslavl Region, located northeast of Moscow was also targeted by drones. The authorities temporarily halted traffic heading towards the Russian capital.

Both regions have large refineries, which are often targeted by Ukraine - who is trying to reduce Russia's revenue from energy to end the war that has lasted for more than four years.

Acting Governor Yegor Kvalchuk, of the Bryansk Region in Ukraine, said on Telegram that "a Ukrainian drone attack on a village" killed one person.

Two people were injured when a Russian drone, during an overnight attack in Ukraine on Friday, crashed on the roof of a block in Galati, Romania.
