Taiwan appoints senior executive at TSMC supplier as new economy minister

Taiwan's inbound premier announced on Tuesday he had appointed a senior executive from TSMC supplier Topco Scientific as economy minister, stating he would be entrusted with dealing with the consistent issue of stable power supplies.

Taiwan Semiconductor Production Co is the world's biggest agreement chipmaker and the chip market is the backbone of Taiwan's export-dependent economy.
