• Sources: Nayara refinery in India sells its gasoline to Russia through traders

  Two'sources' with first-hand knowledge of the situation said that traders have sold Nayara Energy gasoline to Russia. The country is currently experiencing fuel shortages due to Ukrainian attacks on its energy infrastructure. On Wednesday, it was reported that Russia began seaborne imports from India of gasoline. Since the sanctions, Nayara has only been able to process?Russian crude oil at its Vadinar refinery located in western India. According to an industry source, the report on Wednesday stated that at least 60,000 metric tonnes of gasoline were sent from India to Russia. Another source said that two tankers carrying between 30,000 and 40,000 tons had been sent. A tanker invoice seen on Thursday shows that the vessel Agni, loaded with 'gasoline from Vadinar,' sailed 'for Fujairah?on June 20, despite LSEG tanker data showing that the Cameroon flagged vessel had passed past Fujairah heading north and was in Suez.

• Sources say that Russia purchases gasoline from India in order to combat shortages

  Two industry sources confirmed on Wednesday that Russia began importing gasoline by sea from India in an effort to reduce fuel shortages caused by Ukrainian attacks against its energy infrastructure. Fuel shortages have been felt in all 11 time zones of Russia, with long queues and record gasoline prices. The Kremlin announced on Tuesday that Russia is in contact with other nations and discussing the importation of fuel at reasonable prices. The Indian oil ministry and the Russian energy ministry have not responded to requests for comment. A source in the industry said that at least 60,000 tons of gasoline were shipped?from India into Russia. Two tankers with parcels ranging from 30,000 to 40 000 tons were reported by another source. According to a third source, Russia intends to import 400,000 tonnes of gasoline each month from different countries, including Belarus, who has been exporting fuel already to Russia. In the summer, when fuel demand is high, Russia consumes at least 110,000 tons of gasoline per day. There is no information on which refinery in India will supply gasoline to Russia. At a Sunday meeting with government officials and other officials, President Vladimir Putin acknowledged that Ukrainian drone attacks on oil refineries caused fuel shortages in certain regions. • Russell: Crude oil imports to Asia from the ROI grew in June, but there is still uncertainty.

  Asia's crude oil imports by sea rose slightly in June, but they remained near their lowest levels?in over a decade due to the Iran conflict which crimped Middle East shipments. Data from commodity analysts Kpler show that the top importing region is expected to receive 20,71 million barrels of oil per day in June. This is up a fraction from the 20.39 million barrels of oil per day in May and almost 2 million more than the 18,77 million bpd received in April. The imports of Asia remain well below the average 26.79 millions bpd for the three-month period prior to the United States' and Israel's attacks on Iran on February 28. The war resulted in a closure of the Strait of Hormuz - the narrow waterway that connects Iran and Oman, through which 20% of crude oil and refined products were transported before the conflict. The United States and Iran agreed to a 60-day truce that was to result in the full reopening the Strait. However, vessel movements are still well below the pre-war level due to Iranian attacks against?some ships. The Strait of Hormuz has seen a recent increase in crude volumes, but Kpler estimates that only 2.79 millions bpd of oil will have been exported in June. This is up from 881,000 barrels per day in May, but still less than a fifth of what was averaged for the three-month period prior to the beginning of the conflict, which was 15.58 million barrels per day. Unresolved is the question of whether or not crude exports to the Middle East can return to their pre-war level, and?if so, how long it will take. SEE SOLUTION FOR PRICES Brent futures contracts ended at $73.15 per barrel on Monday. This is only slightly more than the $72.48 close on February 27th, the day before hostilities began. The prices of refined products in Asia are a little different. They remain above the pre-war level as refiners process expensive crude bought from outside the Middle East during the height of the conflict. Singapore gasoil (the building block of?diesel) ended Monday at $111.15 per barrel, up by 22% since the February 27 close price of $91.42. Gasoline On Monday, oil finished at $100.42 per barrel. This is a 26.6% increase from the $79.30 it was on February 27. As more crude oil arrives in Asia, it is likely that the price of refined products will fall in the coming weeks. How quickly the import volume returns to pre-conflict levels will determine how much of a difference there is. The Strait of Hormuz is still a wildcard, with Iran determined to exert control in spite of the opposition of the Trump administration, Gulf crude exporters like Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, and even the United States. Tanker owners and insurers will continue to be concerned about possible attacks, causing uncertainty over the safety of the Strait. What China does over the next few months is another wildcard. By reducing imports dramatically, the world's biggest crude importer has averted the negative impact of restricted oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz. Kpler predicts that China's seaborne imports will be only 5.80 million bpd, down from 6.80 million in May, the two weakest months since November 2015. The average seaborne imports of China for the three-month period prior to the conflict was 11.39 millions bpd. With crude prices now back where they were prior to the start of the war, China's refiners are likely to once again begin buying cargoes. However, these will not be delivered until August. The level of uncertainty on the crude oil market in Asia is still high. Will the crude market tighten if China returns to buying the same volume of crude as it did prior to the Iran War, particularly if the Strait Of Hormuz flows do not increase as much as futures markets appear to expect? What will happen to the crude supply when the current influx of stockpile releases from countries like the United States and Japan stops? The crude oil market has so far shown remarkable adaptability and resilience in the face the disruption brought on by the Iran War. It is unclear whether this trend will continue. • Danish brewer Carlsberg files IPO for India unit

  The Danish brewer, Carlsberg, has filed a confidential application for an IPO of its Indian operations, the company announced on Thursday. It joins a growing number of multinationals seeking to tap India's booming equity markets. The 'confidential - route allows companies to keep the IPO filings they make with the country’s markets regulator secret until the launch. Two sources familiar with the matter said that Carlsberg India's planned listing would not raise new capital, but it would allow its parent company to sell a portion of its stake. The brewery is a fully owned subsidiary of Carlsberg Group. This move is part of a trend where multinationals are turning to Indian equity market to monetise?investments rather than raising fresh capital. • Kyrgyzstan seeks help from neighbours to meet fuel shortages in Russia

  Kyrgyzstan, which was concerned about possible fuel shortages due to Ukraine's drone strikes against Russian refineries, asked Kazakhstan, Belarus and Azerbaijan to help ensure stable fuel supplies on Wednesday evening. The 7-million-strong Central Asian nation imports 90% of its fuel from Russia. Russia is also experiencing acute fuel shortages due to the Ukrainian strikes on energy infrastructure. Last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Moscow may ban diesel exports due to the growing domestic shortages. The Kyrgyzstan energy ministry released a statement saying that "to ensure sustainable fuel supply, official requests were sent to the government authorities of?Russian Federation?, the Republic of Kazakhstan?, the Republic of Belarus?, the Republic of Azerbaijan?, the Republic of Uzbekistan?, and Turkmenistan?." Fuel stocks are sufficient, and deliveries are going as planned, according to the ministry. Kyrgyz officials introduced price controls on some retail fuel sales in June. • Gold prices rise on weak oil and soft US jobs data

  Gold prices rose on Thursday due to softer than expected jobs data, and lower oil prices. The market is now looking forward to the U.S. payrolls release today for new clues about the Federal Reserve. As of 0251 GMT on Tuesday, spot gold was up 0.7% at $4,057.92 an ounce after reaching its highest level since the previous session. U.S. gold for August delivery fell 0.3% to $4,070.10. Bullion ?hovered close to a more than seven-month low on Wednesday before closing higher at $4,029.89, after private payrolls data came ?in softer-than-expected. Nicholas Frappell is the global head of institutional market at ABC Refinery. He said, "The market is cautious about shorting down here, because you see a few probes on the 'downside' that are being quickly rejected." Frappell said that "ADP data was a little bit lower than forecast. This probably explains the gold's rally, as some people think the data will be reflected in the non-farm payrolls." ADP's national employment report shows that private employment increased by 98,000 jobs in June, after a 122,000-job increase unrevised in May. The ADP national employment report showed that economists polled had predicted private employment to increase by 118,000. Kevin Warsh, Federal Reserve chair, said that inflation risks and expectations have decreased in recent weeks. He also reiterated the Fed's commitment to bring inflation to its 2% target. According to the CME FedWatch Tool, traders are pricing in a roughly 64% chance that a rate hike will occur in September. Investors will be watching for the non-farm payroll data due later today to get more clues about the Fed's policy. The oil prices dropped after Iran and the United States ended a round of indirect negotiations on Wednesday. They focused on 'the Strait of Hormuz but made few progresses toward a lasting agreement. A stronger labor market and increased oil prices can fuel fears of inflation and interest rates that are higher for longer. Gold is traditionally viewed as a hedge against inflation. However, in an environment of high interest rates it becomes less attractive as a non yielding asset. Silver spot rose by 1.6%, to $60.06 an ounce. Platinum gained 2%, to $1.607.67. • Ukraine calls for the publication of Irish investigation on alumina exports as soon as possible

  On a Wednesday visit to Dublin, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskiy demanded that Ireland complete an investigation to determine if Irish alumina exported to Russia is being used to make weapons-grade aluminium. Ireland has been under increasing pressure in recent weeks because of its Aughinish Alumina Plant, Europe's biggest refinery for alumina (a feedstock used to produce aluminium). It continues to send the material to Russia where it can be used to produce aluminium for military equipment and weapons. Dublin has ordered an investigation into alumina exports and defended an EU decision not to include the plant in Russian sanctions packages. The facility, located in southwest Ireland, is an important part of EU supply chains. "We are grateful that Ireland is conducting an investigation into the matter." Zelenskiy said that he hoped for a positive outcome for the country and that he hoped we wouldn't need to wait for months before we got it. "Every tonne raw material that ends in Russia is used to our detriment," he said. In its 21st set of sanctions, the EU didn't include any alumina exports from Ireland to Russia or mention Rusal's Irish plant. Kaja Kallas, the EU's chief of foreign policy, said that future sanctions could include a limit on Irish alumina exports to Russia. Martin, who invited Zelenskiy, to Dublin, for the start of Ireland's six month term as rotating president of the EU, said that the investigation was close to completion and Dublin will discuss it with European Commission once finalised. Martin stated that "we do not want to be in a situation?where materials from an Irish plant go to support the Russian War Machine."

• Sources say that Kazakhstan has agreed to provide 50,000 tonnes of gasoline to Russia

  Four industry sources reported on Wednesday that Kazakhstan agreed to provide 50,000 metric tonnes?of fuel to Russia as humanitarian assistance in July and August. Russia has been stricken by fuel shortages, long queues and soaring gasoline and diesel prices over the last few weeks, as Ukraine has attacked Russian energy infrastructure, including oil refineries, to undermine Moscow's funding for war efforts. Sources in the industry have said earlier that Russia began importing gasoline from India. In summer, the?Russians consume at least 110,000 tonnes of gasoline per day. Vladimir Putin said that Ukraine is trying to create discord among the Russians. He also admitted that strikes had triggered fuel shortages in various Russian regions, but that Russia was addressing them. According to sources, the refineries of Pavlodar in Kazakhstan and Kondensat in Kazakhstan will provide gasoline Ai-95 or Ai-92. In an emailed statement, the Kazakhstani energy ministry said that it had not received any request from state entities in Russia regarding fuel supplies as humanitarian assistance. It has also not ruled out supplying from the Kondensat oil refinery, which processed naphtha supplied by Tatneft, the Russian oil major. The availability of petroleum products on Kazakhstan's national market will determine whether or not motor gasoline can be supplied to Russia in the near future. The report added that "if such supplies are discontinued, motor gasoline will be produced from feedstock supplied by Tatneft in Russia." • VEGOILS - Palm up on a soft ringgit, but weaker rival oils and crudes cap gains

  Malaysian palm futures closed higher on Wednesday after the previous session?declined?. The ringgit was softer, but weaker crude oil and competing edible oils limited gains. The benchmark palm oil contract for September delivery at the 'Bursa Malaysia derivatives Exchange' rose by?11 Ringgit or 0.24% to 4,557 Ringgit ($1,113.64). A Kuala Lumpur based trader stated that the market had been supported earlier by a recovery in rival soyoil and a slightly lower ringgit during the morning Asian session. The palm ringgit's currency has weakened by 0.24% against dollars, making it cheaper for buyers of foreign currencies. Prices of soyoil on the Chicago Board of Trade fell by 0.66%. Dalian's palm oil contract lost 0.59%, while the most active soyoil contract fell by 0.32%. As palm oil competes to gain a share in the global vegetable oil market, it tracks the price movement of its rival edible oils. Crude Oil fell by more than 1%, as the U.S. and Iran continued to negotiate a final deal that would end their war. The market was waiting for the U.S. data on stock drawdowns. Palm oil is less appealing as a biodiesel feedstock due to the weaker crude oil futures. A trade ministry regulation revealed that Indonesia set its crude palm oil reference price at $1,090.90 per tonne for July. • Zelenskiy: Ukraine strikes Russian oil refinery, missile component factory

  Ukraine has hit a Russian refinery in Ufa for the second consecutive time, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, the president of Ukraine, said on Wednesday. Kyiv is intensifying its strikes in Russia. "Our plan to impose Ukrainian long-range sanction is being implemented every day," Zelenskiy said, referring the Ukrainian attacks deep within Russian territory. "This is a completely just response to everything Russia does against us." Zelenskiy reported that a strike was also carried out on a Russian military-industrial complex he described as "strategic", located in the Penza area, which he claimed made components for missile weapons used by Moscow to attack Ukraine. He said that the site was located about 600 kilometers from the frontline. The Ukrainian General Staff identified the plant as belonging to Roscosmos, a Russian state-owned space corporation. The company said that it produces sensors for cruise missiles and ballistic rockets, components for aircraft electronics, and equipment to support reconnaissance satellites. General Staff reported that two?bridges were also struck in Russian-occupied areas of Ukraine's Donetsk, Luhansk and Donetsk regions as well as the logistics crossing in Donetsk. Analysts say that Ukraine's increased?attacks on Russian military supply lines is part of an ongoing campaign to target Moscow’s logistics behind the frontline. This effort has helped slow down its war machine, after more than four years of conflict. Ukraine's Defence Ministry said that Ukraine's troops hit 11 oil refineries as well as fuel logistic facilities, military factories and other targets in the month of June. Ukraine's SBU security service?also said it had struck hangars housing Russian jet fighters on an airfield in Crimea that?Russia annexed in 2014. Zelenskiy announced last week that he approved a campaign of 40 days to "influence" Russia into ending its five-year war with Ukraine.   CopperTech Metals announced a delay in its U.S. initial public offering on Tuesday. The company cited volatility in the global copper equity sector. Postponement is despite a resurgence in investor appetite for new listings. This has been bolstered by buoyant equity market and several blockbuster initial public offerings. Copper prices are volatile due to the expectations of new U.S. Tariffs, and the supply restrictions that will be imposed in response to the surge in AI-related demand.   The searing heat of a record-breaking European heatwave, which spilled over into Ukraine, slammed down on soldiers trapped inside a massive steel tank from the Soviet era. The scorching temperatures across Europe have caused power outages, infrastructure damage and overwhelmed healthcare systems. The heat of the battle in Ukraine has created its own challenges. The vehicle becomes very hot when it has completed its mission. The temperature inside can get really hot, said the chief sergeant for the 65th Separate Mechanized Brigade's tank battalion using "Sympatiaha" as his call sign on Sunday. This tank does not have air conditioning, unlike the Western-supplied?Abrams?, Challenger? and Leopard? tanks. Under the summer sun, Soviet-era T-72 battle tanks that weigh between 41-45 tons can become heat traps. Sympatiaha and her fellow soldiers sat on top of their tank in a leafy area, trying to cool off by splashing water onto their faces from a bottle. The temperatures in the area hovered around 30 degrees Celsius over the weekend. They are expected to reach 36 C by Tuesday. The crew remained committed despite the scorching heat to stopping Russian troops from moving forward. "Despite the harsh conditions of the weather - scorching temperatures now, freezing temperature and mud in winter – we are still holding on," he said. "We continue to fight against the Russian forces. We're trying to stop them from advancing, and?push? them out?of?here."
