Solar company SunPower to cut tasks, wind down the majority of property direct sales

SunPower prepares to lower its labor force by about 1,000 people in the coming days and weeks and move away from most of its direct sales channel as part of a. restructuring strategy to lower expenses, the solar company said on. Wednesday.

The advancement comes a day after the company divulged. it recognized misstatements in its results for fiscal 2022.

SunPower stated it will unwind its SunPower Residential. Setup locations and close SunPower Direct sales, adding. that setups would be managed by its Blue Raven Solar and. independent dealerships. SunPower had gotten Blue Raven for $165. million in 2021.

The company had 586,250 property clients as of Dec. 31, 2023.
