Constellation Energy retires Mystic Getting Station in Massachusetts -United States EIA

Constellation Energy on May 31 completely shut down the natural gasfired Mystic Generating Station situated in Charlestown, Massachusetts, the Energy Info Administration (EIA) said in a report on Monday.

The company added Mystic's future had doubted when in 2018 its then-owner, Exelon, looked for to retire the plant due to success concerns.

Nevertheless, recognizing its role in ensuring fuel security and system reliability during the peak winter season need season, grid operator Independent System Operator New England (ISO-NE). mandated the plant remain functional up until May 31, 2024, the. report stated.
