Agorastos said outside the court that he might not have stopped a flood, which happens when in 1,000 years and that he planned to appeal against the judgment.

The court acquitted all of the offenders of uncontrolled murder charges connected to the deaths. However attorneys representing the victims stated they would take legal steps to overturn that decision.

We were actually dissatisfied with the judgment, Vassiliki Soufla, legal representative of one of the victims, informed Reuters.

The death of those individuals was not a mishap, was not a. bad moment. It was a result of the cumulative failure of the. state system, Soufla told press reporters outside the court.
