Vistra plans to amount to 2,000 MW of gas-fueled power capability in Texas

U.S. energy company Vistra on Thursday stated it intends to add up to 2,000 megawatts of dispatchable, naturalgasfueled power capability in west, central, and north Texas to improve grid reliability.

Vistra said the company plans to build up to 860 MW of innovative simple-cycle peaker plants, used for backup generation during peak need hours, to be found in west Texas to support growing demand in the region, including from the oil and gas industry.
