Five people killed in Ukraine's Kherson by Russian drone attacks, says governor

Four people were killed by a 'Russian drone attack on a minibus on Wednesday in the'southern Ukrainian city of Kherson, according to Ukrainian authorities.

Oleksandr PROKUDIN, governor of the region surrounding the city, announced on Telegram that a woman had been killed and a male victim wounded in an attack by a drone on a vehicle in the center of the town.

Prokudin reported on Telegram that the?four passengers, a man and 3 women, were killed during a morning attack?on the minibus.

Russia has not yet commented on the incident. Russia denies that it targeted civilians during the war triggered after its invasion of its smaller neighbor? in February 2022.

Zelenskiy stated on X that "the vicious Russian'safari,' against our people at?Kherson is far beyond anything a normal person can imagine."

These are the daily realities in Ukraine's frontline areas. "While partners hesitate to provide additional defence equipment, Russia has long run wild."

The Ukrainians coined "safari", a term to describe drones that "hunt down" vehicles or civilians in the street. Ukraine released video earlier this month showing a drone chasing and?wounding an vegetable seller in Kherson.

Prokudin stated that four more passengers and the driver of the minibus were injured in the attack. He posted blurred pictures of a yellow school bus with bloodied steps and broken windows, as well as footage taken from the inside.

Prokudin claimed that the 'Russian operator of drone must have known he was 'targeting a civil vehicle.

He said that the operator had dropped the explosive on the roof of a bus despite this. (Reporting and editing by Andrew Heavens, Alex Richardson and Anna Pruchnicka)
