Italy's Eni intends to settle Enilive stake sale by year-end, CEO states

Italian energy group Eni anticipates to complete the sale of a minority stake in its biofuel system Enilive by the end of 2024, President Claudio Descalzi said on Monday.

The (sale) strategy remains in development, there are still concerns that are being discussed ... our objective is to nearby completion of this year, (talks) have actually sped up, Descalzi said, when asked about the sale at a conference arranged by day-to-day Il Giornale in Milan.

reported in April that the sale of minority stakes in both Enilive and bioplastic unit Novamont could bring around 1.3 billion euros ($ 1.4 billion) in total and be completed by year-end.

The disposal of a minority stake in the biofuel system is part of Eni's broader technique to produce different entities devoted to specific companies - called 'satellites' - and establish them with the assistance of deep-pocketed investors.

When we revealed the technique (in March) we were thinking ( to clinch an offer) a little further ahead, but I think there is a likelihood we will close (an arrangement on) Enilive, with the exact same technique as Plenitude, by the end of this year, Descalzi said.

Eni in March sold a minority stake in its retail and sustainable system Plenitude to Swiss possession management Energy Facilities Partners in an offer that has valued its unit around 10 billion euros
