TenneT Germany's works council calls on Berlin to supply warranties

TenneT << IPOTTH.AS >. Germany's works council has asked the German federal government to. supply assurances in order to protect the power grid. operator's credit rating, a letter seen showed, as an. acquisition by Berlin looks increasingly elusive.

Berlin has so far not reached an agreement to buy the German. department of Dutch grid operator TenneT, in part due to the. property's evaluation of around 22 billion euros ($ 23.8 billion) as. well as disagreements within the German ruling coalition.

We therefore recommend that further options be explored,. TenneT Germany's works council said in a letter addressed to. Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Economy Minister Robert Habeck and. Financing Minister Christian Lindner.

The works council stated that as an alternative or in. addition to the (partial) acquisition of TenneT Germany, the. German government needs to offer state assurances to protect. grid expansion in Europe's top economy.

With the aid of state assurance systems, our business's. excellent rating would be kept in the eyes of the score. firms and, as a result, the threat premiums for raising capital. stay moderate, the letter stated.

TenneT is presently ranked A- by Standard & & Poor's and A3 by. Moody's.

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte in May advised Scholz to come. up with a bid for TenneT Germany, according to excerpts of a. letter seen last week, airing his disappointment about. the dragged out procedure.
