Raging floodwaters eliminate 2 women in Connecticut, authorities say

Raging floodwaters eliminated two ladies in Connecticut after heavy rains destroyed roadways and downed trees, requiring rescuers to obtain some stranded victims by boat, authorities stated on Monday.

Weekend rain caused major flooding in western Connecticut and turned lethal at the Little River in the town of Oxford, about 40 miles (65 km) southwest of Hartford.

In two different events on Sunday, one lady was eliminated in her automobile and the other as she was attempting to hold on to an indication, Oxford Fire Chief Scott Pelletier told an interview on Monday.

In both cases, firefighters were on scene and attempting to rescue the females when floodwaters swept the victims away, Pelletier stated.

Governor Ned Lamont, calling it a historic storm, stated a state of emergency to help accelerate state and federal recovery funds.

Commanding Officer Daniel Loughman of Connecticut state. cops revealed the two deaths.
